Hi, I am seeking help on how to get our printer functioning again.

I have tried all the printer maintenance, have reset the printer entirely, everything I can think of, but this issue remains.

The printer will not print much but blank pages or ones with partial spots of what it is supposed to print. I'll include some examples here, as well.

I know it's not brand new or anything, but I'd really like to try and fix it.

Thank you.IMG_3344.jpegIMG_3347.jpegIMG_3345.jpeg

@clevervulture, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Thank you for sharing those test pages — based on what you’ve shown, your printer is struggling to properly deliver ink to the page. The uneven colors, faded patterns, and missing sections suggest ink flow, cartridge, or printhead blockage issues. Let’s go through some steps to get your printer working again:

Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges

Make sure the cartridges are genuine HP ones, not refilled or third-party, as those can cause ink delivery issues or clogging.

Check Ink Levels

On the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app, check your ink levels. If any cartridge shows very low or empty, replace it first.

Clean the Printhead

From your printer’s control panel or HP app, go to Settings → Printer Maintenance → Clean Printhead.

Run the cleaning cycle once, print a test page, and check improvement.

If the print is still faded or patchy, repeat the cleaning up to two more times, waiting 15 minutes between each cycle.

Manually Clean the Printhead (if the automatic clean fails)

Turn off the printer and remove the cartridges.

Dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water and gently wipe the printhead contacts (where the ink flows out).

Also wipe the cartridge contacts (the copper-colored parts).

Allow everything to dry for 10 minutes before reinstalling.

Run the Printhead Alignment

Once cleaned, go to Settings → Printer Maintenance → Align Printhead and follow the on-screen prompts.

This ensures the nozzles are aligned correctly after cleaning.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
