Help! It seems that an update to Windows 10 has stopped my printer from working. I've tried, several times, to remove all aspects of the printer from my PC and reinstall but still no luck. The last attempt at correcting the problem resulted in the screen below indicating that the setup was completed succesfully, but the problem persists.

I am able to use the scan functionality, but it will not print. Going into the 'Printers & scanners' settings I can see relevant settings and I note for HPE78123.lan the "Driver is unavailable" (refer below).

Going into the 'Device Manager' there is nothing under 'Print queues'. The driver HPLJM428f-M429f_Fax_Driver is present under 'Print Server Properties'.

I have no idea of what else I can try to do fix this issue.

Is this network attached or USB?

It's USB connected.

The printer is connected via USB

The .lan device is likely a network install not USB. What you can try is to remove all devices,  and then going into device manager in the Windows control panel, set view to show hidden devices and delete any printer devices that show as hidden. Then restart and install. You might also want to consider connecting the printer to your network as it is much easier to perform a manual install with the HP UPD driver this way.
