CP1215
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,
I've got that problem to me printer. Black&White printing is fine, but color printing gets fuzzy .. I would say that magenta is too high and cyan is too low or something like that.
I have walked through this community and all related messages to find solution but none has worked so far.

HP Toolbox has been mentioned in some of the replies, but the links to that are obsolete.

Is that tool still valid and where can I get it?

I have installed and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor. It gives question about the cartridges, but the given choices does not include the cartridges CP1215 has CF210 .. CF213.

So, I'm really stucked here.
Can I get, any help from this community to this issue?

Welcome to the HP support community.

Recently, HP discovered that some cartridges for the HP Color LaserJet CP1210 series printers were experiencing issues with internal cartridge components that resulted in unacceptable print quality. However, the engineering team has developed and implemented a solution. If you experience this problem, you can return any affected cartridges under your existing warranty. Please use the Contact HP link on this page to determine the appropriate return options for your region.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

We have run into issues in the past and my suggestion would be to perform a factory reset followed by 3 full calibrations.

How do I activate the factory reset?

Hi,
thx for your replies.

Could you explain how to " perform a factory reset followed by 3 full calibrations. "

I had a similar problem and found HP support to be rather useless, especially their new software.

I found an old XP machine and installed the XP driver and HP toolbox to be able to "unlock" the print quality and then calibration option.

I have also just now installed the same software (XP version) on my Windows 10 PC and was able to get to this setting too.

So in summary, download the XP driver (full feature software) from here https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-color-laserjet-cp1000-printer-series/3422474/mod... (you have to choose a different OS). Then install it on your Windows 10 PC and then you access the settings you need.

Why HP removed this from the Windows10 driver, I have no idea. But it would be good if there were knowledgeable HP assistants. The number of people with this same problem that they didn't bother helping is astounding...the CP1215 printer is solid....the HP support....not so.
