I just replaced all 4 cartridges on my Officejet Pro 8610 with HP cartridges from Staples. I am now getting a low ink message for all the color cartridges and the black cartridge is reading very low. I've done all the recommended reset procedures including shutting down and unplugging from the outlet, cleaning the contacts on the print cartridges, and am sure I'm using the correct cartridges for this printer. Need to fix this issue.

Hi @VictorGIII
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, but the persistent low ink message on your HP Officejet Pro 8610 could be due to a few other factors.
Here are some additional steps to resolve the issue:
1. Verify Cartridge Authenticity
- Ensure the cartridges are genuine HP products. Non-HP or refilled cartridges can sometimes cause recognition issues.
- Check the packaging for the HP logo and hologram to confirm authenticity.
2. Reset the Printer Again
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Remove all cartridges from the printer.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
- Reinsert the cartridges one by one, ensuring they click securely into place.
3. Update Printer Firmware
- Outdated firmware can cause cartridge recognition issues. Update your printer's firmware:
- Go to the HP Support page for your printer model.
- Download and install the latest firmware update.
4. Clean the Cartridge and Printer Contacts
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol to clean the copper contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.
5. Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect the power cord while the printer is on.
- Wait for 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
- This can clear any temporary errors in the printer's memory.
6. Check for Blockages
- Inspect the cartridge slots for any debris or dried ink that might be interfering with the connection.
- Use a flashlight to ensure the slots are clean and unobstructed.
7. Test with Another Set of Cartridges
- If possible, test the printer with another set of cartridges to rule out a problem with the current ones.
- If the issue persists with new cartridges, it might indicate a hardware fault.
