HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw

Hello,

I received a "low-ink" warning from the subject printer and so I removed the old cartridge and inserted a new one. The printer now states that the new cartridge is counterfeit and won't let me use the printer. The new cartridge is part of a two-pack of genuine HP cartridges (verified by using the holograph and code on the box) and the old one was the first of the two; the new one being the second of the two-pack.

If I put the old, empty one back in the printer accepts it.

Any thoughts on why the HP printer will not accept genuine, verified HP laser jet ink cartridges?

Thank you!

Hello @solarain ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Print the supplies status page and scan

  1. with the old toner cartridge
  2. with the new toner cartridge

upload here, click on the icon "Insert photos", "Set format = Large", original size at least 200 KB.

Kind Regards

Good morning.

Thank you for the response.

The printer prints the report with the old cartridge but does nothing with the new cartridge. It only displays a message with a link to information on counterfeit printer cartridges.

Regards.
