@AnthonyFrampton, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To remove the magenta ink from your HP Smart Tank 5106 reservoir, follow these steps:
Prepare the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the ink tank cover.
Remove the Ink:
- Use a syringe or pipette to carefully extract the magenta ink from the reservoir. Ensure you have a container to collect the ink.
Clean the Reservoir:
- After removing the ink, clean the reservoir with distilled water. Use a syringe to flush out any remaining ink. Repeat until the water runs clear.
Dry the Reservoir:
- Allow the reservoir to air dry completely before refilling it with new magenta ink.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
