HP Officejet Pro X476dn Multifunction Printer

Hello all

I am having problems with the Officejet Pro X476dn MF where Magenta is missing entire sections of color and Black is faded/discolored during Print Quality Report (see picture below).

We've tried the following troubleshooting steps with no joy.

  • Ran "Clean ink smear"
  • Ran "Clean Print Head" levels 1, 2, and 3 (more than once at different stages)
  • Ran "Printhead Recovery"
  • Ran "Printhead Calibration"
  • Manually cleaned the print head via pulling the duplexer and wiping the print head.
  • Cleaned/rinsed the waste area thoroughly (it was quite full)
  • Replaced the ink cartridges with new cartridges

From what I have read online/this site I am assuming the ink delivery system is clogged or malfunctioning.  If this is the case I am wondering if the waste area being super full caused the nozzles/delivery system to clog.

That segment of magenta printhead failed, if it was something else you would have some traces of magenta.

The printhead has several segments to create page wide printhead and one segment failed in magenta
