When I print there are missing colour lines down the page. Brand new original cartridges installed, printer maintenance fully completed, to stage 3. Might print 1 or 2 pages ok but then reverts to missing lines.

 I'd like to help!

 

To better assist you - 

 

1) Does the copy print out the same way? 

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or devices? 

 

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -

  1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.

  2. From the printer control panel, open the Setup  menu.

  3. Open the Reports or Tools menu.

  4. Touch Print Quality Report.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further. 

 

You may also refer to this document with steps to fix the " Print Quality Issues" issue applicable for your printer -  Print Quality Issues 

 

 Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

I spent 2 hours on the phone to HP customer service trying all different things. Turns out my new ink cartridges are out of date, expired last year and I have 4 of each colour which makes it an expensive error buying too many in advance. I've ordered a new set and will try those and if I still see missing lines I will know it is the printer and not the ink. Thank you for replying and I'll try to keep you posted.
