Hi @ANH8

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Here's a troubleshooting guide to help resolve the issue:

1. Ensure the Printer is Properly Connected.

2. Update HP Smart App

Make sure you're using the latest version of the HP Smart app. Sometimes, bugs or issues with connectivity or functionality can be fixed by updating the app.

  • Check for Updates:
    • On Windows: Go to the Microsoft Store, and check for updates to the HP Smart app.
    • On mobile devices (iOS/Android): Visit the App Store or Google Play Store, search for HP Smart, and update the app if necessary.

3. Check Printer Software and Driver Installation

4. Access Print Quality Tools via HP Smart App

Once you’re sure the printer is connected and the drivers are up to date, follow these steps to access the Print Quality Tools:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
  • Select your printer from the home screen of the app.
  • Go to the Print & Scan tab or the Manage Printer section.
  • Look for the Printer Maintenance or Print Quality Tools option.
  • If prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to perform a printhead cleaning or other maintenance tasks.

Using the Printer’s Web Interface (if available):

  • Some HP printers allow you to access settings through a web interface by entering the printer’s IP address in a web browser. You can find the IP address by printing a network configuration page from the printer.
  • Enter the IP address in your browser’s address bar and navigate to the maintenance or tools section to run printhead cleaning.

4. Ensure Full Permissions in the HP Smart App

The app might be restricted from performing certain tasks if it doesn't have the necessary permissions. Check the permissions on your phone or computer and ensure the app is allowed to access all features.

  • On Mobile Devices: Ensure the app has the necessary permissions to access your printer. On iOS or Android, you may need to adjust settings in the app settings or system permissions.

5. Check for Errors or Alerts

6. Reset Printer to Default Settings

If none of the above works, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings, which can sometimes resolve connectivity or software issues.

  • To reset the printer:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Press and hold the Cancel and Wireless buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds (check your printer’s manual for the exact method).
    3. Follow the on-screen prompts to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network and reconfigure the printer.

7. Reinstall the HP Smart App

If the app still doesn't work after performing the above steps, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app.

  • Uninstall the app from your computer or mobile device.
  • Restart your device.
  • Download and reinstall the app from the Microsoft Store (Windows) or App Store/Google Play (mobile).

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
