I recently changed all 4 cartridges. It printed a couple of pages just fine and then nothing but blank pages. I ordered the cartridges from HP not a 3rd party retailer. Cartridge numbers are 305x Black, 305a Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. This is the first time I've had an issue after changing the cartridges. I double checked that all of the protective plastic film was removed from the cartridges. I've had them for less than a month. Please advise on how I can trouble shoot this issue.

Hi @1smtldy
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet 400 color M451 is printing blank pages after changing the cartridges, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:
1. Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure that all cartridges are installed correctly. Remove each cartridge and reseat them, making sure they click into place properly.
2. Inspect the Cartridges:
- Check the cartridges for any visible defects or damage.
- Make sure that the protective seals and plastic films are completely removed.
3. Clean the Printhead:
- Sometimes, the printhead can become clogged. Clean the printhead to improve printing:
- Open the printer's front cover.
- Remove the cartridges.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the contacts on the cartridges and the printhead area inside the printer.
4. Print a Test Page:
- Print a configuration or test page to see if it produces any output:
- From the printer control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Print Configuration Page or similar options.
5. Run a Cleaning Cycle:
- Access the printer’s maintenance menu and run a cleaning cycle if available. This can help clear up any issues with the printhead.
6. Check for Firmware Updates:
- Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. Visit the HP Support website for any available updates.
7. Check for Software Issues:
- If you’re printing from a computer, ensure the printer driver is updated. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause issues.
- Try printing from a different application or file type to see if the problem persists.
8. Inspect Printer Settings:
- Ensure that the printer settings are configured for color printing. Check if it’s set to print in grayscale or black and white only.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
