HP Recommended

HP DeskJet 2722, purchased 2022, printing blank pages regardless of source. I've tried pdfs, Word, nothing works. WiFi is fine and printer is connected. Running MacOS Sonoma 14.2. I've run every kind of diagnostic I could find, nothing helps. Turned it off and on too many times to count. So frustrating!! Can anyone help? Thank you.

Try these steps:

Verify Ink Levels

  1. Check the ink levels of your cartridges:
    • On the printer control panel, navigate to Ink Levels status.
    • Alternatively, check ink levels in the HP Smart app on your MacOS device.

Verify Cartridge Installation

  1. Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
  2. Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure they are installed correctly.
  3. Close the cartridge access door and power on the printer.

Clean the Printhead

  1. Printing Diagnostic Report: From the printer control panel, print a test page or diagnostic report to evaluate printhead performance.
  2. Clean the Printhead:
    • Open the HP Smart app or HP Utility on your MacOS device.
    • On the app menu, select Printer Maintenance or Services.
    • Run the printhead cleaning process.

Update Printer Firmware

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

 

Reinstall Print Drivers

  1. Uninstall the Printer:
    • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    • Remove your HP DeskJet 2722 from the list.
  2. Reinstall the Printer:
    • Add the printer back using Printers & Scanners and ensure to download correct drivers from HP.
    • Alternatively, download drivers from the HP Support website.

Soft Reset

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  2. Wait approximately 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Test Prints

  1. Try printing a test document directly from the printer menu.
  2. Experiment with different types of documents to confirm that the issue persists across all formats.
