I have a deskjet 2600 printer. It is only printing black and white and when I look for the color button the only button is for black only .it prints in color using the diagnostic tools. Anybody have any ideas to try.

Hi @Lavenderblue412,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Check Print Settings

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP DeskJet 2600 and select Printing Preferences.
  • Look for a setting labeled "Print in Grayscale" and make sure it is unchecked.
  • Save changes and try printing again.

2. Ensure Color Ink is Not Depleted

  • Open the HP Smart app or Printer Software on your computer.
  • Check the ink levels to see if the color cartridge is low or empty.
  • If needed, try replacing the color cartridge.
