Hello HP family. My new printer did not perform the last step of the automatic printing of the example color /black  page. is that normal?  I havent attempted to print anything else.

I understand your new HP DeskJet 2852e didn’t print the initial color/black example page during setup, and you’re wondering if that’s normal. Let’s clarify and go through what you can do.

 

1. First-Page Test Isn’t Always Required

Some HP printers skip the automatic first-page demo depending on firmware or setup method.

If your printer successfully completed setup and cartridges are installed, this is not necessarily a problem.

 

2. Check Cartridge Installation

Open the printer and verify all cartridges (black and color) are properly seated.

Ensure any protective tape or plastic covers have been removed.

 

3. Run a Test Print Manually

From the printer’s control panel or the HP Smart app, print a test page or printer status report.

This confirms that all colors are working correctly.

 

4. Align and Clean Printheads (Optional)

Even if the demo page didn’t print, you can run Align Printhead and Clean Printheads from printer maintenance to ensure optimal print quality.

 

5. Try a Sample Print

Print a small document or photo from your computer or HP Smart app to verify that printing works properly.
