My printer was working perfectly until a paper jam occurred. I followed the instructions: pulled down the front flap, hinged the top up to enable access to the paper track, removed the cover at the back and pulled the paper through and out. I replaced everything in reverse order and ran the print again. It sounded just as if it was printing but only blank paper has come out since. The only advice I've found is to clean the jets and print head which I've done a few times now. However, the problem is that neither cartridge is printing anything since the paper jam. I do not want to buy more cartridges to continue troubleshooting if this is a known problem with an easy fix. I'm looking for advice.

Hi @floppsy ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already taken some good troubleshooting steps by cleaning the print head and cartridges.
Here are a few additional steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- Check Ink Levels: Ensure that your ink cartridges have enough ink. Sometimes, even if the cartridges aren't empty, they may not print properly if the ink levels are too low. You can check ink levels through the printer software on your computer or directly on the printer if it has a screen.
- Run Print Head Cleaning: Try running the print head cleaning utility again. Sometimes it takes multiple cleaning cycles to fully clear any blockages or dried ink from the print head.
- Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer and resolve printing issues.
- Check Cartridge Installation: Make sure that the ink cartridges are properly installed in the printer. Sometimes, if they're not seated correctly, they may not make proper contact with the print head, resulting in blank pages.
- Update Printer Driver: Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed on your computer. You can usually download the latest driver from the HP website. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause printing problems. Software and Drivers for HP ENVY Inspire 7924e All-in-One Printer
- Perform a Print Quality Diagnostic: Many printers have a built-in diagnostic tool that can help identify and fix print quality issues. Check your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a print quality diagnostic.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response. I tried just about everything and decided I must try a new cartridge, so I bought one black one, fitted it, removed the colour cartridge and, lo and behold, it printed the alignment page and a black and white copy perfectly. Basically, the machine lied about the amount of ink left in the cartridges. It shows both as about one third full. They are still the ones which came with the printer on initial purchase so maybe they are different. I suppose I'll have to buy a colour caetridge today.
Thanks for your advice.
