HP DeskJet Plus Ink Advantage 6475 All-in-One Printer

Hello!

The HP 6475 printer does not recognize the new HP 667XL Tricolor ink (serial #5650526215419849), it gives an error. When I put in the used ink, it works without problems.
I performed all the tests suggested on hp.com and I was not able to resolve the situation.

Hi @MSPR ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the cartridge error.

If your HP DeskJet Plus Ink Advantage 6475 is not recognizing the new HP 667XL Tri-color ink and gives an error, even after trying the troubleshooting steps from HP, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
  • Remove and reinstall the HP 667XL cartridge, making sure it's properly seated.

Clean the Ink Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
  • Carefully remove the Tri-color cartridge.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the gold electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the carriage.
  • Let it dry for a few minutes before reinserting it.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Go to the HP support website and check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer model.
  • If there’s an update, follow the instructions to install it, as it may resolve cartridge compatibility issues.

Reset the Printer to Factory Settings:

  • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore.
  • Choose Restore to Factory Settings. After the reset, reinstall the cartridge and check if the error is cleared.

Check Cartridge Authenticity:

  • Ensure the cartridge is an authentic HP product by verifying the serial number and checking the packaging for security features like a holographic label.
  • If the cartridge is still not recognized, and you’ve confirmed it’s authentic, you may need to exchange the cartridge from the retailer or contact HP Support for a replacement.

You may also refer to this document for further assistance.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, the new ink cartridge might be defective, and an exchange or replacement might be required.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

I appreciate your help.
I followed the steps you recommended but it still gives me an error, that is, it still does not recognize the cartridge.
