Hi Guys.

Just unboxed my brand new HP Envy 6032e printer.

Removed all packaging.

Installed HP Smart.

Removed tape from included cartridges and clipped in place, closing the door - says "cartridges not installed".

Tried uninstalling multiple times, cleaned cartridge contacts, cleaned printer contacts - powered off and on - all multiple times - nothing.

Can't print.

Regards, pingle

Hi @pingle,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your new HP Envy 6032e printer's supplied cartridges. There could be several reasons for this problem. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the cartridges are properly installed in their respective slots. Make sure they are securely inserted and properly seated.
  • Remove Protective Tapes: Sometimes, new cartridges come with protective tapes or stickers that need to be removed before they can be used. Check the cartridges for any protective coverings and remove them if present.
  • Restart the Printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on again. This can help reset the printer's internal systems and potentially resolve minor issues.
  • Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the cartridges are compatible with your printer model. Using incompatible cartridges can lead to printing issues.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can address compatibility issues.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: If you're still facing issues, try cleaning the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth. Dust and debris can sometimes interfere with the connections.
  • Check for Error Messages: If there are any error messages or codes displayed on the printer's screen or your computer, note them down. These messages can provide valuable information about the nature of the problem.
  • Perform a Print Head Alignment: Some printers require a print head alignment process after installing new cartridges. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform this alignment.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you.

I did all those things - nothing worked. As it was only 1 day old I took it back to the retailer who identified it as faulty and swapped it.

Now I have a working printer, thanks.
