Hi @Megjohnxo,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure that the black ink cartridge is properly installed in the printer. Remove and reinsert it to confirm it's seated correctly.
Clean the Cartridges:
- On the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app, look for a cleaning utility for the printhead.
- Perform a printhead cleaning to address any potential clogging issues with the nozzles.
Check Ink Levels:
- Although it's a new cartridge, use the HP Smart app or printer software to check the ink levels to ensure the printer correctly recognizes the new cartridge.
Run a Print Quality Diagnostic Report:
- Use the printer display or software to print a quality diagnostic report. This might give insight into why the black cartridge isn't functioning properly.
Use Printer Software to Test:
- Open the HP Printer Assistant or HP Smart app on your computer.
- Run any available diagnostic or cleaning tools to see if they rectify the issue.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Go to the HP Support website and download the latest firmware updates for your Deskjet 2810e.
Align the Printer:
- Align the printhead using the printer's software or control panel, which may resolve alignment problems affecting print quality.
Check for Blockages:
- Sometimes, protective tape from the new cartridge might still be in place. Double-check the cartridge to ensure any protective seals have been removed.
Try Another Cartridge:
- If possible, try another new black ink cartridge to rule out a defective cartridge as the problem.
I hope this helps.
