No error messages, have cleaned printhead, aligned cartridges-everything the manual says to do

@EWE1, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I understand the printer is not printing in black. Make sure you are using HP inks.

 

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issues

Clean the printhead and print a test page to check the result.

 

If the issue persists with more than 1 black ink cartridge, I'm afraid the printhead has gone bad which is non-removable.

As the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

HP Photosmart 6520 new black cartridge will not print.  Have done all the routine things to correct it without success.  All other colors are printing and everything seems to be working except the black print

If you have already performed the steps, it could be a hardware failure.
