We have been using older HP printers that allowed either a flash memory DIMM or a USB device that could store macros and overlays without being erased every time the printer is turned off or on.  I am looking for new devices that provide me this type of option as well.  This is for a small business, needs at least 2 drawers, non-color, network attached and PCL5 compatible.   Any suggestions on which current HP devices fit?

current 400 series have an external usb port that you can attach a memory stick to to use as job storage but I think you need to get to at least a 500 series product like the M507 to have the option of adding internal USB ports.  http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/4AA7-4187EEP.pdf
