Hi everyone!

 

Replaced my colour cartridge 304XL yesterday with a new 304... HP ENVY 5030

Now my printer is not printing in colour at all

 

Tried all sorts of fixes: cleaning, remove/put back, switch off/on printer, tried old cartridge again - works with the remaining ink, etc. - spent 3h without success

 

Anyone with ideas?

PS: I have also been contacted by scammers after filling out the support request... so having a great day (IRONY)

Same issue more or less - recently replaced colour ink cartridge and was printing fine until recently (possibly just today as we haven't tried colour printing for a couple of weeks). Ours is an ENVY Photo 6234. Perhaps a faulty software update? Seems like there's a lot of people with the same issue today.

So... I found the problem, and it's a very vicious one...

 

I tried to clean up the printhead on the new color cartridge (304), first with wet paper then dry it up with a dry one.

Next, once dry, I put it in the printer and started the alignment (for the 50th time since last Friday... we are Tuesday) and color started to print but not to a high standard - the alignment scan did not work as some colors were missing from the printed test page...

 

I went to a store and bought a new pack of cartridges, put it in the printer, and the alignment page printed was perfect, alignment scan was SUCCESSFUL - just so you know, I was about to throw the whole thing through the window in the Thames!

 

So, my diagnostic is that the (new) color cartridge installed last Friday was defective and the cartridge I bought yesterday (Tuesday) works perfectly - I will go to the store where I bought it first, if no refund, I will contact HP directly to get my money back.
