Hi @AngCrystal ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your printer firmware blocking the use of an HP 910XL cartridge. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:
- Check for Firmware Updates: Sometimes, HP releases firmware updates to address compatibility issues with third-party cartridges. Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually check for updates through the printer's settings menu or by visiting the HP support website. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Use Genuine HP Cartridges: While it's understandable to seek alternatives to save costs, using genuine HP cartridges can ensure compatibility and avoid potential issues with firmware updates. Consider using an official HP cartridge to see if the problem persists.
- Reset Printer Settings: Sometimes, resetting the printer to its factory defaults can resolve compatibility issues. Look for an option in the printer's settings menu to reset or restore the device to its original settings.
- Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the HP 910XL cartridge you're using is compatible with your specific printer model. Using cartridges designed for a different printer model may cause compatibility issues.
