Hi @HelpMePlease54,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for reaching out! I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 is displaying the error “The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer” even after installing genuine HP 962XL cartridges and performing a region reset.

Let's try a few steps to try and fix the issue:

  1. Verify Cartridge Region Compatibility:
    • HP cartridges are region-specific. Even genuine HP 962XL cartridges must match the region code of your printer.
    • Check the label on the cartridge box and the cartridge access door inside the printer to confirm the region.

  2. Update Printer Firmware:
    • Connect the printer to the internet (preferably via a mobile hotspot).
    • On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.
    • A second firmware update may be available even after a recent one

  3. Reinsert Cartridges One by One:
    • Remove all cartridges.
    • Insert them one at a time, starting with black, and observe if the error appears after a specific cartridge is inserted.
    • single faulty cartridge can trigger the error for all.

  4. Check for Tamper or Damage:
    • Inspect the chip area on each cartridge for damage or residue.
    • Clean gently with a lint-free cloth if needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
