HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a

Hi,

I performed a hard reset via the Maintenance Menu, but now the printer is demanding that I insert the original setup cartridges (that I no longer own).  I cannot get back to the maintenance menu as all I get on the screen are the animations telling me to insert the setup cartridges.  I am stuck in a loop.

Can you please kindly assist?

Thanks so much, but I couldn't break out the loop to do that. 

 

In the end I used the hack at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlKwGVq4MSE to spoof the printhead to be compliant.  I have spent way too long on this, but I had the time and inclination, but vow this is the last HP printer I buy.....a nightmare of unnecessary complexity!
