Hi @harveyko

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m really sorry this has persisted despite your careful troubleshooting—it’s incredibly frustrating when one color refuses to print and everything else seems fine.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 isn’t printing blue despite cleaning the printheads, reinstalling drivers, and replacing the ink, the issue likely lies with ink flow blockage, cartridge recognition, or internal calibration.

Let’s walk through a few deeper steps to help restore full color output.

Step-by-step actions to restore blue ink printing

1. Run a print quality diagnostic page

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report.
  • Examine the cyan (blue) section. If it’s missing or streaked, continue with the next steps.

2. Perform a cartridge reseat and contact cleaning

  • Power on the printer and open the ink access door.
  • Remove the cyan cartridge and inspect the copper contacts.
  • Gently clean the cartridge contacts and the corresponding printer contacts using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Let dry for 5 minutes and reinsert firmly.

3. Run the built-in cleaning cycle

  • On the printer, go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
  • Run the cleaning cycle once. If blue still doesn’t appear, run it a second time.
  • Avoid running it more than twice consecutively to prevent ink waste.

4. Check cartridge authenticity and expiration

  • Ensure the cyan cartridge is genuine and not expired.
  • If using a new cartridge, confirm the packaging seal was fully removed.

5. Update printer firmware

6. Run the Diagnose & Fix tool

Let me know how the printer behaves after these steps. If blue still doesn’t print, we can explore manual printhead alignment or deeper ink system resets next.

You’re doing everything right by staying methodical and observant.
