Overink/wet/smear photo print

Hello, 

I recently purchased photo paper with epson (I know it’s a different brand but it is inkjet compatible paper) in order to print out pictures but every time I print pictures they come out either smudged or extremely wet with the quality being poor and blurry. I’ve checked the settings and tried different things but nothing seems to work. Do I have to really change the paper or is there something else I can do?
