I have purchased two HP All-in-one printers. Both have same photo printing issue. When I choose to print a 4x6 photo, there is no option for a borderless print. Second, when I do print the photo, the short edge has an additional 1/2" white border. I can not figure out why this is happening, despite all the troubleshooting and settings configurations. Need your help on this! Thanks

For the HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
If you have not done so,
Install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software
Full Feature Software - Installation Package - Information and Download
HP ENVY Photo 7800 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories
Basic Instructions - Install the Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software
Preparation
- If using VPN, shut it off to install software. NOTE >> If you don’t know what this is, you are not using a VPN – ignore this part.
- Not working? If the printer software is still / already installed, Uninstall the printer software from Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features > Restart the computer and log in – Reference Uninstall HP printer software and drivers
Check: After the printer software is uninstalled, check that the printer is not still lurking in Devices and Printers. If found, Right-Click on the printer and "Remove"
- Reminder: If using USB cable between printer and computer, disconnect the cable before installing software. Later... Connect the cable when instructed (near the end of the installation procedure).
Installation
- Download and Save the Full Feature Software installation package or the Easy Start Software
- Open File Explorer
- Navigate to the folder in which you saved the installation file (likely Downloads)
- Right-Click on the installation package and “Run as Administrator”
- If using Easy Start > When asked, opt for "Full Driver" (exact wording might vary).
- If using Easy Start > Skip any extra software / offers you do not want (wording varies).
- After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

Tabbed Paper - It's a Thing
It sounds like you have "tabbed" photo paper.
I've used this - the paper is actually 6.5X4 inches
The "tab" is intended as a space to write a note / name. Silly paper, really - people don't realize what it is.
I have some of it, in fact. I've used it both ways (ignoring / using the tabbed end as part of a custom paper size).
After the full driver printer software is installed, you will have access to the Printing Preferences / Shortcuts (printer features).
That "tabbed" paper size might - and likely might not - be included in the list of available paper sizes.
If the tabbed paper size 6 1/2 X 4 inches is in the list, select paper type "photo" and that "tabbed" paper size.
If the size is not in the list, you have two options:
1. Carefully cut off the tabbed part of the paper - use the perforated markings to guide where you cut the paper to make it 4x6 inches.
OR
2. Create a Custom Paper Size Form in the size of the paper - name your custom paper size form whatever you like: Silly paper, 6.5x4 Photo, or other name.
HP Document:
HP Printers - Creating Custom Paper Sizes
Example
Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers
Right-Click on your printer > (Select printer from drop down menu / list)
Printing Preferences
Tab Paper / Quality > Custom
Custom_Paper_Size_Form_Examples_5
Create your custom paper size form 4.00 inches wide X 6.50 inches height

Next,
Load the paper into the printer
Alert the printer to the paper size / type
Use the Printer display panel or adjust the paper size / type using EWS
For example...
Check / Adjust / Retain the Paper Size and Type at the Printer Display Panel
NOTE This Section is not applicable to printers lacking a printer display panel.
Look for a message on the printer display panel.
Click Modify / Change / No-Yes (wording varies),
Select / Adjust the paper size and type, Click OK
