Assuming the printer has passed all its Print Quality diagnostics (everything checks out),

Essentially, you "get what you get" >> Try: change the settings before the content prints.
Open the content to be printed
Try the Edit menu > "Adjust" the color settings > Done and Print
The setup might look similar to this example from an older version of the HP Smart app and using iPadOS :

What else?
If you are printing at "Best" Quality, back off to no more than "Normal" --
"Best" uses more ink and might result in a darker printed image.
Paper absorbency impacts how a print is put-to-paper as does the paper type (photo / plain / other).
