HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I having problem with the printing quality. I’ve printed more than should, I restarted my printer. I’ve also did a self clean, clean smear, alignment and made sure that the printer is updated. I have plenty of black ink which is what I really need for my company and I can’t seem to correct it. I also tried the whole clean the cartridge and that didn’t work either. I went into settings on computer which is windows 11 and I still can’t figure why my black has poor quality other than it has been sitting. I print regular sheets just fine but when making my black labels for my company it really doesn’t work out. It looks gray with a hint of green. The more I print the worse it get and I did a whole upgrade to print more just to keep testing when my cycle /insta ink will continue but I’m a bit frustrated because I really should be having problems. Someone please help me.

@Ceci005, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Since you're experiencing faded black prints (gray with a hint of green), especially on labels, try the following steps:

1. Use Genuine HP Ink

  • Ensure you’re using genuine HP ink cartridges.
  • If using third-party or refilled ink, replace it with an original HP cartridge.

2. Check Ink Levels and Cartridge Condition

  • Even if the ink appears sufficient, it might be expired or dried out.
  • Try shaking the black cartridge gently to mix the ink.
  • If possible, test with a new black ink cartridge.

3. Adjust Print Settings for Labels

Since the issue mainly occurs when printing labels, ensure the correct settings:

  • Go to Printer Properties > Printing Preferences in Windows.
  • Under Paper/Quality, select the correct paper type (e.g., Labels, Thick Paper).
  • Set Print Quality to Best instead of Normal or Draft.
  • Change Color Mode to Grayscale – Black Ink Only (if available).

4. Perform an Advanced Printhead Cleaning

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to:
    • Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  • Perform Advanced Cleaning (repeat up to 3 times if needed).

5. Manually Clean the Printhead

  • Remove the black ink cartridge.
  • Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to wipe the printhead nozzle.
  • Let it air dry completely before reinserting.

6. Align the Printhead

  • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead.
  • Print an alignment page and follow on-screen instructions.

Let me know if it helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
