On my HP Officejet pro 6978 printer, how do I make copies lighter or darker?

Thank you everyone but I figured it out. It's in the printer. You just go to your printer screen and touch the Copy Document Icon then touch the little gear icon on the bottom left then scroll down and you will see were it says Light/Darker, once you choose your preference and you select done, you have to scroll down again to save current settings.
