Hi @Mazz511,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy printer shows a message like "Low on toner" or "Low on ink," it typically indicates one of the cartridges is running low.
Here’s how you can identify which cartridge needs replacing:
1. Check the Printer Control Panel
- If your printer has a display screen, navigate through the Ink Levels or Cartridge Information section. This is usually found in the Setup or Tools menu.
- The screen will show the estimated ink or toner levels for each cartridge.
2. Use the HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Select your printer, then click or tap on Estimated Ink Levels. The app will display the levels for all cartridges.
3. Print a Test Page
- From the printer menu, find the option to print a Test Page or Diagnostics Report.
- The printout will show which cartridge(s) might be low or empty based on color fading or missing sections.

Irwin6 - thank you for your reply.
In trying to achieve the information (before you replied) I seem to have now locked the printer into confusion.
The light flashes purple, and the Wi-fi icon flashes all the time, hence it won't connect to my laptop. When I use the HP app it identifies an HP Envy 6000 PCL3 but then won't connect to it.
Apart from a hammer, any suggestions. I am getting a bit more than frustrated now.
Regards
Mazz

Hi @Mazz511,
Thank you for sharing the above information.
Please follow the steps below to connect your printer to the network again.
1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.
2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.
3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.
Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!
