Hello, my printer does just fine with regular paper but I have been trying to print on paper that is 203gsm thickness and everything is slightly off. I’m trying to make cards. The paper is 8.5 by 11, normal letter sized, but its slightly thicker and perforated into 4 sections for the cards I’m trying to make. I’ve also tried directly printing onto index cards.
With both, I’ve made sure the printer knows what type of paper and the correct size. I’ve done the same on my computer. Unfortunately there is a large margin at one end, causing the print not to line up with the card or the perforation on the 8.5 by 11 paper. When printing on normal paper, the margins are fine. The printer says it is up to date with drivers, I’ve run an alignment and made sure the cartridges are clean. What can I do?

Welcome to the HP User Community.
Perforated paper is not supported nor is card paper at 203 gsm.
The upper weight limit is Index card 200 gsm.
I would guess the printer is not able to correct judge the edge of the perforated paper.
What to do?
Use Supported paper.
For example,
Printer supports Brochure matte / Professional paper - typically 180 gsm.
This paper does make an acceptable "card". (Personal opinion)
