Print quality is weak

I am very frustrated, because I gave away my expensive inkjet printer—I was always throwing out cartridges because I used it so rarely. I was told that this Laserjet would never dry out. The cartridge is still almost full but the print quality is lousy. And I find all the instructions, such as they are, incomprehensible.

i have it on Wifi, which works, and I get no error message. any help would be greatly appreciated
