@Emily9281, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding print quality issue!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like your HP ENVY 5055 is having print quality issues despite cleaning the cartridges multiple times. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:c
1. Check Ink Levels and Cartridges
- Even though the cartridges show they are relatively full, they may still be clogged or defective.
- Try removing and reinstalling the ink cartridges.
- Use a lint-free cloth to gently wipe the cartridge nozzles and the printer's ink contacts.
2. Perform a Printhead Cleaning (Deep Cleaning)
- Since you've already tried basic cleaning, check if your printer has an Advanced Cleaning or Second-Level Cleaning option in the HP Printer Assistant or HP Smart app.
3. Check Print Settings
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences.
- Ensure the Paper Type and Print Quality are set correctly (try Best mode instead of Normal or Draft).
4. Run a Print Quality Diagnostic Report
- On your printer’s touchscreen:
- Open Setup > Tools > Print Quality Report.
- If you see missing lines or streaks, align the printhead by selecting Align Printhead in the printer’s settings.
5. Try Different Paper and Connections
- Use high-quality paper to see if the issue is related to paper absorption.
- If you're printing wirelessly, try using a USB cable to eliminate network-related issues.
6. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from power for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in, turn it on, and retry printing.
7. Replace the Ink Cartridges
- If nothing works, the ink cartridges may be defective. Try using new HP original cartridges.
Let me know if the issue persists! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
