Hi @Pmb67,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your printed pages have globs of ink on them or display streaks, it could be due to several reasons, not just an issue with the print head. Before considering replacing the print head, which can be costly, try the following steps to troubleshoot and possibly fix the problem:
Check Ink or Toner Cartridges: Ensure that the ink or toner cartridges are installed correctly and are not leaking. If a cartridge is overfilled or improperly seated, it can cause ink to spill onto the paper.
Clean the Print Head: Most printers have a built-in process for cleaning the print head. This can be accessed through the printer's menu or the software on your computer. Running a print head cleaning cycle can help clear any clogs that might be causing the ink to deposit unevenly.
Align the Print Head: Similar to cleaning, printers can also align the print head to ensure that the ink is being deposited precisely. This is also done through the printer's built-in menu or accompanying software.
Check for Paper Quality: Ensure you are using the right type of paper for your printer. Poor-quality paper can absorb ink unevenly, leading to streaks and blobs.
Inspect the Print Head Nozzle: If your printer allows for it, manually inspect the Print Head Nozzle. Sometimes, dried ink or debris can accumulate on the nozzle, causing printing issues.
Update Printer Drivers: Ensure your printer's drivers are up to date. Sometimes, software issues can cause printing problems, and updating drivers can resolve these issues. Click Here
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
