Hi @JohnG1960 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 5530 printer is not printing properly, despite the ink cartridges showing as full, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Confirm that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink. You can do this by checking the ink levels through the printer software on your computer or directly on the printer's control panel.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Print heads can get clogged if the printer hasn't been used for a while. Most printers, including the HP ENVY 5530, have a built-in cleaning utility. You can access this through the printer's settings on your computer or the printer's control panel.

Print a Quality Diagnostic Report:

  • Print a diagnostic report from the printer to identify any issues with specific colors or areas. This report can usually be generated through the printer software on your computer or via the printer's control panel.

Alignment Check:

  • Perform a print head alignment check to ensure that the printhead is properly aligned. This can be done through the printer software on your computer or the printer's control panel.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can download the latest drivers from the official HP website.

Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges:

  • Using genuine HP ink cartridges is recommended for optimal performance. Generic or third-party cartridges may not work well with the printer.

Manually Clean Printhead:

  • If the automatic cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to manually clean the printhead. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.

Check Paper Type and Quality:

  • Make sure you are using the correct type and quality of paper for your printer. Using the wrong paper may affect print quality.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can  resolve printing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
