Product: Hp Envy 5000 Series

I just bought a brand new black ink cartridge for my Hp Envy 5000 series printer, and I removed the tape on it before inserting it (of course). However, when I went to print, my printer just printed a blank sheet of paper. I am out of color ink and it gave me a message stating that, so I just threw away the empty color ink cartridge, and it gave me a notification saying it was going into single cartridge mode and I pressed OK. However, when I went to print my printer still printed a blank peice of paper! I did the setting where I clean the cartridges, and I did that and no matter what I have done that online suggests, including updating my printer, I still print only blank pieces of paper!

Defective black ink cartridge, return it.
