Hi @rolfe1
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
If you're getting the "one or more cartridges appear to be damaged or missing" message even after replacing the cartridge, try these troubleshooting steps:
Check Cartridge Installation: Make sure the cartridges are installed correctly. Remove them and reseat them, ensuring they click into place.
Inspect Cartridges: Look for any visible damage or defects on the cartridges. Check for any protective tape that might not have been removed.
Clean Contacts: Gently clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridges and the printer using a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab lightly moistened with water. Make sure to dry them before reinstalling the cartridges.
Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP website or the printer's control panel.

Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the wall, and wait for about 60 seconds. Then plug it back in and turn it on.
Try Different Cartridges: If possible, test with another set of cartridges, preferably genuine HP ones, to rule out cartridge issues.
Contact HP Support: If none of the above steps work, you may need to contact HP support for further assistance, as there may be an issue with the printer itself.
Let me know if you need more detailed steps for any of these!
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
