My HP Printer was working just fine. It ran out of ink and I installed a new 138X laserjet cartridge that I had purchased with the computer when I bought it last year. The computer connects with the printer but it only prints blank pages. I have uninstalled the printer, checked the updates for the printer, drivers and computer and everything is current. I have shut the computer and the printer down multiple times. The printer does connect with the computer - it tells me that everything is ok and it shows the ink levels are full but it only prints out blank pages. HELP!

@saravogel, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your LaserJet Pro MFP 3101sdw is printing only blank pages after installing a new 138X toner cartridge, even though the printer shows full toner levels and is properly connected. Let's walk through some steps to resolve this:
Check the Toner Cartridge Installation
- Power off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the toner access door and carefully remove the 138X cartridge.
- Gently rock the cartridge side to side to evenly distribute the toner.
- Check for any protective seals or tape that may still be on the cartridge (especially the sealing tape over the drum or toner port).
- Reinstall the cartridge securely and close the door.
Print a Printer Status Report
- On the printer control panel, go to Reports > Printer Status Report.
- If this prints correctly, the issue may be with the computer or driver.
- If it’s still blank, the issue is likely hardware or cartridge-related.
Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver
Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and remove it.
Download and install the latest driver from HP: Official HP® Support
After installation, restart your PC and try printing again.
Test with Another Document or App
- Try printing from Notepad or a simple PDF file.
- If it prints correctly, the issue may be with the specific app or document.
Firmware Update (Optional but Recommended)
- Ensure your printer firmware is up to date: Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support
HP anti-counterfeit | HP® Official Site
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
