I have just put new ink cartridges in my printer and since then I have tried to print documents and they either print out blank or extremely faded.

I have tried the following

- turned printer on and off
- taken ink out, shake it, put it back in
- printed test pages and they are ALL ok
- uninstalled printer software on Macbook and reinstalled

Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Can you take a better look on a test page that is printed OK as you stated? Is black on test page really black or more brown/grey?

The printer mix colour ink to produce something close to black, but it's not black.

Hi there. Thanks for reply.

I have printed off a few test pages / printer quality pages.

- one of them has 6 boxes at the top (orange, green, purple, yellow, pink, blue) and the rest of the page is blank.
- one of them has a few coloured thin vertical lines, then across the middle of the page lines of thick block colours (blue, pink, yellow x2)
- another page i printed has lots of tiny little faded blue boxes and at the bottom of the page in red it has a warning sign with IMPORTANT!! and an arrow

No black, your printhead failed, if cleaning isn't helpful it's probably time for a new printer.
