Hi @Gigi311,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here are several steps you can try to resolve the issue with your HP printer not printing despite showing as ready.
Check Printer Status and Connection:
- Ensure the printer is turned on and properly connected to your computer or network.
- Make sure there are no error messages or blinking lights on the printer.
Set the Printer as Default:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP printer and select Set as default printer.
Clear Print Queue:
- In Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer and select See what's printing.
- In the print queue window, click on Printer and then select Cancel All Documents.
Restart Printer Spooler Service:
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Find Print Spooler, right-click on it, and select Restart.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can diagnose and fix common printing issues.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Go to the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Uninstall the current printer driver from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Install the new driver you downloaded.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, updates can fix compatibility issues.
Check Printer Port Settings:
- In Devices and Printers, right-click your printer and select Printer properties.
- Go to the Ports tab and make sure the correct port is selected. If your printer is connected via USB, it should be something like USB001.
Print a Test Page:
- In the Printer properties window, go to the General tab and click on Print Test Page to see if the printer can print a test page.
Check for Network Issues (if using a network printer):
- Make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
- Restart your router and reconnect the printer to the network.
Disable VPN and Firewall Temporarily:
- If you are using a VPN or firewall, try disabling them temporarily to see if they are causing the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
