I just installed a new HP Printer cartridge in my printer. It was printing before I changed the cartridge, when the old cartridge ran out of ink (I believed that to be the case). Now the printer won't print with the new cartridge.

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth? Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen?  Are the cartridges HP or third party?

 

You mention you are trying to print in black only.  For some printer models it is required to have the color ink cartridges with adequaete ink even while printing in black only.  This is the case for printers that have seperate printheads and ink supplies.
