I have installed all new print cartridges in my HP OfficeJet Pro 8020e series and it's not printing correctly. Almost looks like ink is running out. Tried resetting to default; removing and putting back cartridges, nothing seems to be working.

Hi @RoEsper,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e isn't printing correctly after installing new cartridges, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue. Here’s a detailed guide to help you resolve this problem:
1. Check Cartridge Installation
Ensure that the cartridges are correctly installed:
- Turn on the printer.
- Open the printer’s access door to the cartridges.
- Make sure each cartridge is securely snapped into its slot.
2. Use Genuine HP Cartridges
Verify that you are using genuine HP cartridges. Non-HP cartridges might cause printing issues.
3. Clean the Printhead
Sometimes, the printhead might need cleaning:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the maintenance menu.
- Select "Printer Maintenance" or "Tools".
- Choose "Clean Printhead" or a similar option.
4. Run a Printhead Alignment
Aligning the printhead can improve print quality:
- Go to the printer’s control panel.
- Select "Printer Maintenance" or "Tools".
- Choose "Align Printhead".
5. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer
Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date:
- Connect your printer to the internet.
- Go to the printer's settings menu.
- Check for updates and install any available firmware updates.
6. Print a Test Page
Printing a test page can help identify the issue:
- From the printer’s control panel, navigate to "Settings" or "Printer Maintenance".
- Select "Print Quality Report" or "Print Test Page".
7. Manually Clean the Printhead
If automatic cleaning doesn't work, you might need to clean the printhead manually:
- Remove the cartridges.
- Remove the printhead from the printer.
- Clean the printhead with a lint-free cloth and distilled water or a specific printhead cleaning solution.
8. Check Ink Levels
Although you have new cartridges, double-check the ink levels:
- Go to the printer’s control panel.
- Check the ink levels in the "Ink" or "Supplies" menu.
9. Reset the Printer
Perform a power reset on the printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
