@Manojkodoth, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Smart Tank 515 is printing only in black and pink, even though all ink tanks have ink, it’s likely a printhead or ink flow issue. Let’s walk through the steps to resolve it:
Check Ink Levels Visually
Ensure all ink tanks (especially cyan and yellow) have sufficient ink. Sometimes the ink may appear present but not be flowing correctly.
Run Printhead Cleaning
Use the printer’s built-in cleaning tool:
- On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
- Alternatively, use the HP Smart App:
- Open the app > Select your printer > Go to Tools > Run Printhead Cleaning.
Repeat cleaning up to 3 times if needed.
Print a Diagnostic Page
This helps identify which colors are missing:
- From the printer panel or HP Smart App, print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page.
- Check if cyan and yellow are missing or faded.
Check for Clogged Vents or Ink Flow Issues
- Open the ink tank lid and inspect the air vent holes above each tank.
- Make sure they are not blocked or sealed.
- If needed, gently clean the area with a lint-free cloth.
Update Firmware
Ensure your printer has the latest firmware:
- Visit the HP Support page and install any available updates.
Perform Printhead Alignment
- Go to Settings > Maintenance > Align Printhead.
- This ensures proper ink distribution.
Reset the Printer
Sometimes a reset helps:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug it for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and power on.
Replace or Reseat Printheads (if needed)
If cleaning doesn’t help, the cyan/yellow printhead may be clogged or faulty. You can:
- Remove and reseat the printhead.
- If the issue persists, consider replacing it.
