hi I don’t know if anyone can help, this has been going on for ages. I seem to have tried everything, all the printout test results say that everything is fine but when I go to print, it never prints out everything, it prints parts of pages or just doesn’t print the complete print job, it says error sometimes but not all the time. Its ink is fine. The Internet connection is fine, it just doesn’t print the complete print job, it says error sometimes but not all the time. and it’s not just printing from my iPhone, This happens from multiple iPhones and iPads. It’s driving me crazy. I’ve tried turning it off completely, I’ve tried updates, which will say that it is up-to-date. Sometimes it takes a piece of paper to print and then just stops.

@Tenille, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds incredibly frustrating to deal with a printer that consistently fails to complete print jobs. Here are some troubleshooting steps for your HP Smart Tank Plus 555:
Use HP's Diagnose & Fix Tool
HP offers a built-in tool in the HP Smart app (on Windows/macOS) called Diagnose & Fix. It can automatically detect and resolve many common issues:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
- Go to "Printer Settings" > "Advanced Settings" > "Diagnose & Fix".
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Reset the Printing System (iOS/macOS)
Since you're printing from iPhones and iPads:
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Wi-Fi and forget the printer.
- On the printer, reset the Wi-Fi settings (usually by holding the Wireless button until the light blinks).
- Reconnect using the HP Smart app.
Update Firmware
Even if it says it's up to date, manually check:
- Go to HP Support.
- Download and install the latest firmware for your model.
Check for AirPrint or Driver Conflicts
If you're using AirPrint on iOS:
- Ensure the printer is on the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone/iPad.
- Try printing from a different app (e.g., Notes or Safari) to isolate the issue.
Disable IPv6 on the Printer
Some users have resolved similar issues by disabling IPv6:
- Access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) by typing its IP address into a browser.
- Go to Network > Advanced Settings > IPv6, and disable it.
Try Printing via USB
To rule out wireless issues, try printing from a computer using a USB cable. If it works fine, the issue is likely network-related.
Check for Print Queue Errors
On a computer:
- Go to Devices and Printers > Right-click your printer > See what's printing.
- Cancel all jobs and restart the spooler service.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
