If you have only lines in black then you need to replace the black toner cartridge.

I did replace it and still have the same problem.  The printer was working fine and then the black lines started to appear.  I did not get a low toner message, so I cleaned the printer the best I could and if I take the cartridge out and shake it, it eventually goes away.

Copies are fine, btw.

So, the suggestion is to spend another $100 on a 3rd cartridge?  Can I return the one I just bought?  I guess that would be between me a Staples.

If the copies are fine that changes a lot. Can you scan and post here a supplies status page printer from the printers menu

It was copying fine, but I just did another test and it was all black lines.  I will buy another cartridge and update you with the resolutes
