Hi @Roberta4513,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When your HP printer prints double-sided (duplex) and one side is upside down, it’s usually just a setting issue — specifically, the “flip on long edge” vs “flip on short edge” option in your print settings.

Step-by-Step (Windows)

  1. Open your document and go to File > Print.
  2. Select your HP printer.
  3. Click Printer Properties or Preferences.
  4. Look for a setting called:
    • Print on Both Sides
    • Or Duplex Printing
  5. Then choose the correct binding option:
    • Flip on lthe ong edge (for portrait documents)
    • Flip on the short edge (for landscape documents or booklets)

If the back side is upside down, you're likely using "Flip on short edge" when you need "Flip on long edge".

On macOS

  1. In the Print dialog, click Show Details.
  2. Check Two-Sided.
  3. Under Layout, set:
    • Two-Sided: Long-Edge binding (for portrait)
    • Or Short-Edge binding (for landscape)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
