Hello,
I've seen this question a few times and the response is one of two things: Contact HP and let them know what happened, or "I can have HP contact you about this!"
I accidentally mixed up the numbers and bought 64 instead of 63; I have no idea how this happened. Unfortunately I only found out when I installed the 64 and the printer said "this is wrong" lol. So the cartridge foil is open, and the retailer won't accept the return.
I'm posting because I have been trying to contact HP, but sadly my printer is out of warranty so the Virtual Assistant will not connect me with an agent. Anyone have any advice on how I can contact HP?
Thanks for your time!

Hi @ksk12345,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for getting back, and no worries, these things happen!
Since the cartridge has already been opened and the retailer isn't accepting a return, unfortunately, there's not much we can do from our side in terms of replacing or exchanging it. In this case, the best option would be to purchase the correct cartridge model (HP 63) for your printer.
Once you've installed the correct cartridge, if you still experience any issues or error messages, feel free to let me know, I’ll be happy to walk you through some troubleshooting steps to get everything working smoothly.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
Best regards,
