HP ENVY 5010 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Printer says cartridge not recognised for this printer and it is the correct one. Done all the cleaning suggestions etc. Tried another refilled colour cartridge and just the same. Black one ok. Also says empty or counterfeit  but not.

You will need to contact your supplier for replacement cartridges.  HP is not responsible for the quality of third-party products, see the document here for information.

Note that the ink level gauge in your printer's cartridge records when a cartridge has been emptied.  If the cartridge is later refilled the cartridge will still reflect the state of the original ink (depleted) if the original HP chip is used.

This is a genuine HP cartridge that I refilled. There is something stopping it being recognised. I have done this for years with HP genuine cartriges.

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the cartridge error for your refilled cartridge.  Clean the electrical contacts in the printer and on the cartridge as shown in Step 3 of the Type 1 cartridges.
