macOS 12.0 Monterey

Following the recent and almost simultaneous demise of two defunct/discontinued HP8600 inkjet printers [950/951 ink cartridges], I replaced same with HP9010 which is working exceptionally well except for depletion of ink. Residual 950/951 ink cartridges = 14. I therefore transferred ink from old 950/951 cartridges to new 963 cartridges, however, printer still reflects cartridges as depleted. Can I turn the relevant setting off and continue printing using refilled 963 cartridges?

Hi @Bob829,

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

HP does not recommend refilling of cartridges.

Refilled cartridges can leak and clog the printer head, while this may not break the printer outright, it increases the risk of damage to your printer. If a refilled cartridge does break your printer, it also voids the warranty.

Hence, I suggest that you use genuine HP cartridges for longer cartridge life and better ink quality.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
