Move to France from UK with my UK printer - so need to change the region and get new instant ink subscrion.
1. I understand I need to change the region of the printer - so please send me details.
2. I have cancelled my "English" Instant Ink subscription - effective early January. I want a new subscription for my French address to start at about the same time. Can I subscribe now and pick a start date for my "French" instant ink that is, say, one day, before my old subscription ends to ensure there is no break in my printing? Or is there some special way of ensuring that my new French subscription starts as soon as the English subscription ends??
3. Is there anything else I should be aware of or do to ensure that there is no interruption to printing during the transition to a "French" subscription? I noticed that when I sign in the system seems take me back to the UK - will this stop when the region is changed?
Thanks for your help.

@Mumu71, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
Region reset cannot be performed on Instant Ink cartridges. It will not work in a different region.
You will have to cancel your UK Instant Ink account and create a new account with a French address.
There is no option to choose a date of activation. Once you enroll the printer, Instant Ink will send you a welcome kit to the address mentioned in the account.
The subscription gets activated when you install an Instant Ink cartridge in the printer.
Hope this helps!

So although I am now using the printer in France (not UK where I have used it for some years) there is no need to change the Region of the Printer. Other queries ask for help with changing the region of a printer when moving from one country to another - so I assumed I would have to do this. Please confirm that region change (UK to France) is not required for me.

Yes, you have to perform a region reset if you have moved to a different region. However, as you have mentioned in your post that you are an Instant Ink customer, region reset cannot be performed on Instant Ink cartridges.
To perform a region reset, you should have regular HP ink cartridges. Do you have them with you?
If you enroll the printer in Instant Ink now in France, you will have to wait for the welcome kit to be delivered to you.
Keep me posted.

1. Therefore the best solution is to get an ordinary cartridge of the same kind from a French supplier and use that when my UK instant Ink subscription ends. I can then continue printing with an ordinary cartridge and then try to re- enroll using my French address etc. on the French instant ink site.
2. Is this what you would advise??
3. I see that other people have had this problem with moving around Europe so it would be useful to have a simple short guide added to the HP knowledge base so that people do not waste time trying to work this out.... The existing documents do not cover "re-enrollment" in another country and how it is best approached by instant-ink users to avoid problems.
Thanks.

1. Yes, this can be done.
2. Once you have the new regular ink cartridges in France, contact us to perform a region reset on the printer.
3. You may enroll in Instant Ink as and when you want.
4. I will pass on the feedback to the respective team.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
